Folklore collectors

This interactive stand is about YIVO (Institute for Jewish Research), an institution documenting Jewish history and culture in the 20s and 30s of the twentieth century. Very often the ethnographic research was conducted by folklore enthusiasts called Zamlers, volunteers donating their free time to collect old tales throughout the country.

Play a simple game. Choose a Zamler game piece and move it from the beginning to the end of the track. Every field of the route provides different information about YIVO and the work of Zamlers. When “your” Zamler collects enough historical materials you end the game and earn a reward.
