Tolerance

A long multiuser table introduces the book Faith Strengthened (1585) by Izaac ben Abraham of Troki and the religious diversity in Poland. The design is based on speech scrolls (banderoles) – a detail from medieval paintings illustrating the act of speaking. The different titled scrolls are spread over the table and when unfolded, reveal a dispute (excerpts from the book Faith Strengthened). Two separate scrolls are dedicated to religious diversity and religious groups.
