Kaliski Statute

The legal basis for Jewish settlement was established in the Middle Ages. Documents called privileges determined the rights and obligations of the Jews and guaranteed freedom of religion. The first privilege on Polish land was the Kaliski Statute, issued by Bolesław the Pious, the Duke of Greater Poland in 1264. The content of the Kaliski Statute is known to the historians, but the original document was not preserved. That is why we created an interactive document inspired by historical references.

Navigating the content is easy. Selecting a topic from the menu on the bottom of the screen scrolls he content of the document. Additional information appear on the top of the page.
